અમેરિકામાં ડેેન્ટલનો અભ્યાસ કરતી ભારતીય વિદ્યાર્થિનીની હત્યા ૩૭ વર્ષની રંધીર કૌર તેના એપાર્ટમેન્ટમાંથી મૃત અવસ્થામાં મળી આવી હતી કોલિફોર્નિયા, તા.૧૬ કેલિફોર્નિયા પાસે આવેલા અલ્બાના શહેરના એક એપાર્ટમેન્ટમાંથી ભારતીય મુળની એક છાત્રા રંધીર કૌર મૃત અવસ્થામાં મળી આવી હતી. એમ માનાવામાં આવે છે કે એની હત્યા કરવામાં આવી બશે. ૩૭ વર્ષની રધીર કૌર સોમવારે સાંજે પોતાના એપાર્ટમેન્ટમાંથી મૃત હાલતમાં મળી હતી એમ પોલીસે કહ્યું હતું. રંધીર પંજાબની રહેવાસી છે અને અહીંયા ડેન્ટલ ભણવા માટે આવી હતી. એમ કહેવાય છે કે વર્ષ ૨૦૦૪ પછી અલ્બાના શહેરમાં આ પ્રથમ હત્યા હતા. મરનાર રંધીર કૌર યુનિવર્સિટી ઓફ કેલિફોર્નિયા, સાનફ્રાન્સિસકોમાં ડેન્ટલની છાત્રા હતા. જો કે હજુ સુધી એની હત્યા અથવા તો મોતનું કારણ જાણવા મળ્યું નહતું. અમેરિકામાં હત્યાની ઘચના ભલે ચાર વર્ષ પછી બની હોય, પરંતુ અમેરિકામાં ભારતીયો પર અવારનવાર ખુની હુમલા તો કરવામાં આવ્યા જ છે. ઉલ્લેખનીય છે કે આ સંસ્થામાં દર વર્ષે ૨૪ ડેન્ટિસ્ટ સ્ટુન્ટસને પ્રવેશ અપાય છે. સંસ્થાના અધિકારીઓએ કહ્યું હતું કે અમે આ સમચાર સાંભળીને ખૂબ જ દુઃખી થયા છીએ.
